It is indicated for the treatment of:
1)Candidiasis: Oropharyngeal and esophageal candidiasis; disseminated candidiasis, including peritonitis, pulmonitis and urinary tract infection; monilia vulvovaginitis. It is also indicated to decrease the incidence of candidiasis in patients undergoing bone marrow transplantation who receive cytotoxic chemotherapy and/or radiation therapy.
2)Cryptococcosis of cryptococcus neoformans besides cryptococcal meningitis. It can be used as drug of maintenance therapy for cryptococcal meningitis after initial therapy with combination of amphotericin B and flucytosine.
3)Coccidioidomycosis.
4)It can substitute itraconazole for the treatment of blastomycosis and histoplasmosis.
